The L1 Program

The L1 Certification team is responsible for introducing our members to the world of high power rocketry. Through lectures and workshops, team members are able to get their Tripoli Rocketry Association HPR Level 1 certification in a couple of weeks.

For all SRL sponsored Level 1 High Power certifications, members will be provided an Onyx L1 kit from LOC Precision as well as any materials needed to assemble the kit. However members must purchase their own motor (we highly advise the AeroTech H135W-14) unless financial assistance is required. Kits are limited and will be distributed and assembled at a scheduled meeting!

Certifications will be through Tripoli Rocket Association at their range near Hartsel, CO. Make sure to get a membership through Tripoli before your launch!

Educational Initiatives

The team is also working closely with ITLL Pre-College Engineering Program to develop activities, lesson plans and curriculum for their educational projects. We are proud to be supporting the initiative with real world engineering experience. We’re able to spread the excitement of experimental rocketry to younger generations of explorers and innovators through hands-on activities developed by our team.
